Detailed itinerary
This program is focused on wildlife observation, birding and rainforest interpretation. Activities may adjust according to weather, river conditions and wildlife activity.
Cusco to Boca Manu / Hummingbird Lodge: early private transport through the Andes, cloud forest and lowland rainforest. Optional night walk.
Boca Manu to Casa Matsiguenka: boat journey on the Manu River with chances to see jaguar, capybaras, caimans, macaws, toucans and river birds.
Salvador and Otorongo Lakes: exploration for giant river otters, black caimans, monkeys, hoatzins and kingfishers. Observation tower at Otorongo.
Casa Matsiguenka to Tambo Blanquillo Lodge: long wildlife boat trip and visit to the tapir clay lick.
Macaw clay lick and Manu Birding Lodge: early observation of parrots and macaws, then tapir lick experience.
Return to Cusco or Puerto Maldonado option: boat and road transfer, arriving in Cusco approximately in the evening.
